Butler Gallery |
In 2008, the Butler Gallery was involved in the development of a natural garden space for the users of the Department of Psychiatry at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny. Artist Saturio Alonso was commissioned to create a sculptural seated piece for the Department which is now installed in the hospital grounds and used by patients and visitors alike.
The Butler Gallery had been involved in a number of initiatives with St. Lukes Hospital in Kilkenny previous to this. These include the loaning of work to the hospital, a collection display and a series of posters designed using images from the Butler Collection to highlight the positive effects of the arts in healthcare settings.
