There are eight Regional Authorities in the Republic of Ireland whose role it is to co-ordinate certain activities of the local authorities and play a monitoring role in relation to the use of EU Structural Funds. They work with local partners to promote the co-ordination of public service provision.  Regional Authorities provide access to European Structural Fund programmes and other sources of funding for projects that aid community and economic development

Chambers of Commerce provide a range of services to satisfy the needs of businesses and social enterprises. They are usually local, independent, non-profit making and non party-political organisations funded by membership subscriptions.

There are 29 Local Authorities and 5 City Councils operating in the Republic of Ireland.Services include funding, advice and information, and networking opportunities. Types of funding available will vary, depending on what the priorities of the local authority are and needs of the community.  To find out more about what is going on in your area, contact your local arts officer.
