Hugh Lane Gallery

Located in Dublin's city centre, Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane, which is part of Dublin City Council, houses one of Ireland's foremost collections of modern and contemporary art. The original collection, donated by the Gallery's founder Sir Hugh Lane, has now grown to include some 2,000 artworks, ranging from the Impressionist masterpieces of Manet, Monet, and Degas to works by leading national and international contemporary artists. The Gallery is a significant learning institution and resource for visual arts and related arts activities in Dublin. Through the community programmes which are carried out both on site and in the community, Kids Club programme, adult courses, schools programme, in service training and public lectures and tours, the Gallery caters for a multiplicity of audiences from children aged three right through to the actively retired.

Butler Gallery

The Butler Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in the former kitchens of Kilkenny Castle. Funded for the most part by the Arts Council of Ireland, it exhibits work by emerging and established Irish and international living artists. Alongside the exhibition programme, the Butler Gallery runs a rich and diverse education and outreach programme. It also exhibits and loans work from the Butler Gallery Collection, established in 1943 with the founding of the Kilkenny Art Gallery Society.
